As we gear up for the start of the wedding season, I have been busy meeting up with all the lovely couples who are getting married this year, starting with the very awesome Katie & Ollie.
These guys are not getting married until summer, but as they live in Reading and both have busy lives as music teachers, we decided to meet up during the Easter holidays for their pre-wedding shoot. The location, Ollie's mum and partner's farm in Thornton (halfway between York and Market Weighton), also happens to be where the couple will be having their big wedding day bash in August. After the official ceremony down south, they will be bringing all their family and friends up north for a big celebration in a marquee on the farm paddock. It is going to be a very personal affair with a ceremony which they have written themselves and all the music being provided by their musical friends. I am particularly looking forward to the speeches which are going to be delivered in the Swedish tradition of any guest being allowed to get up and make a speech!
I had a lot of fun working with Katie & Ollie and exploring the farm which has lots of options for photos on the wedding day (we will definitely be making use of that abandoned tractor!). I really can't wait to meet up with these guys again to capture their big day in August.
Ollie and Katie’s wedding at the family farm in Thornton, near York, was one of the most unique and personal weddings that I have had the pleasure of photographing.
